At a distance of about 170 kilometers from Chongqing, in the mountainous part of the Sichuan basin is a complex of rock carvings Dazu rock carvings created by ancient masters in the period from VII to XII century. The sculptures are mainly concentrated in the mountains of Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Sichuansheng, Shimenshan and represent the most valuable architectural monument from different eras.
