Komiža is a small fishing town located about 10 kilometers from the town of Vis. It is located at the foot of the mountain Hum (587 m) on the South-West of the island of Vis. Comigo distinguished by the hospitality of the locals, rich culture and delicious local dishes.

In the city you can visit the fishermen Museum, which is located in the so-called "building communities" - the tower of the Renaissance, built in the 16th century. You can also visit the many churches, among which stands out the Church of St. Nicholas. It is located on a hill above Komiza. From the Bay of komiža you can see the Islands of Vis archipelago, including the island of biševo with its famous Blue cave.

Komiža has a very convenient location - out of town, you can quickly reach all the attractions of the archipelago of Vis, located in the Northern direction.

After receipt in 1993 of Croatia's independence begins the restoration of the resorts began to develop tourism. In 1997, komiža received the city status. And in recent years due to the growth of the tourist flow started to develop and active tourism: paragliding, diving, horse riding, Hiking through the forest on a specially-equipped for tourists trails, numerous island tours and trips to neighbouring Islands - Palagruza and Diomedes.
