Despite its relatively small size, the popular resort town of Protaras, located on the southeastern coast of Cyprus, is one of the most visited places on the island. Although its main tourist lure is considered the beautiful beaches, the city has many attractions that also attract thousands of people wanting quality and interesting rest. So, one of such places is the city history Museum, which will be equally interesting to both adults and children. A large number of exhibits tell about the ancient and modern history of not only the city but of the whole island. There is a large collection of various items associated with the daily life of the locals, their lifestyle and traditions.

The Museum exposition is divided into two parts. One of them is completely dedicated to the ancient history of the island. There you can see fragments of original frescoes and mosaics, sculptures and everyday objects found during archaeological excavations on the territory of the city and its surroundings, clothing, and tools. The main part of the exhibition, which is of most interest to visitors, talks about the recent history of Cyprus. The oldest of its exhibits date back to only the late nineteenth century. There visitors can see the largest on the island a collection of vehicles - from the modest carts ordinary people to the luxurious carriages of the aristocracy. In addition, the visitors also there are collections of toys and pottery - plates, vases and jugs.
