The Orthodox Church Museum of Kuopio is one of the most important ecclesiastical museums in Western Europe. He reports to the Finnish Orthodox Church Board and has the status of a state. The Museum was founded in 1957, the building was built in 1969 In the exposition of the Museum - icons, liturgical vestments, Church utensils brought from Valaam and the monasteries Konietzko. A large part of the collection of the Museum belongs to the XVIII-XIX centuries, and the old things to the middle ages. Many of the exhibits came to the Museum during the Second world war.
