Park in Mulhouse, which today includes a zoo and Botanical garden, was founded in 1868 and initially occupied a total of four hectares of land. To date, he has greatly increased its space and now occupies about 25 hectares.

The Park was founded at the expense of citizens, it was inhabited by several species of birds and animals, including deer and kangaroo. Just two years after opening, the Park had to close, and all of its inhabitants to sell such a move was made to do the Franco-Prussian war. After the war the Park was in private ownership and changed owners twice. In 1893 it was purchased by the municipality of Mulhouse. After the Second World war the Park was restored rather quickly - within five years it received its first visitors.

Today at the zoo of Mulhouse is home to about 1200 animals and birds of almost two hundred types. There is a small zoo with animals that you can pet. It is home to goats, rabbits and donkeys. From wild animals in the zoo you can see monkeys, wolves, sea lions, penguins, pelicans.

The Botanical part of the garden, was originally a small landscaped Park, now has several hundred varieties of irises and dahlias, also grow tulips, rhododendrons, lilies, hydrangeas, rare plants from the tropics.
