Museum of aviation and cosmonautics: photos, description (Musee de l'air et de l'espace)

The Paris Museum of aviation and Astronautics is the oldest and one of the largest museums of its kind in the world. It is located in the suburb of Le Bourget, the old Paris airport. It's a Paradise for men and children: you can touch the exhibits, climb them, walk on them.

The history of the Museum began in 1919, when prominent French engineer, head of technical service of the French air force albert Kako asked the government to establish a Museum of Aeronautics. It. marked the beginning of the collection, which was placed in the South-West of Paris in Issy-Les-Moulineaux. In 1921 the Museum moved to a newly-MEUDON, a suburb, where in 1880, was the construction of balloons and airships. When in 1974, Paris has found a new airport named after Charles de Gaulle, the Museum gave the former airport "Le Bourget".

Huge space, "Le Bourget" airport has long been the second in size in Europe after the Berlin "Tempelhof") for large exhibits of the Museum were at the time. There's a pavilion dedicated to the supersonic "Concorde" - it exposed the plane, inside which you can see literally everything. In a giant double-decked "Boeing 747" available for viewing even the engines.

The Museum's collection chronologically begins with the works of Leonardo da Vinci. The oldest of the local aircraft heavier than air glider "Massiah-Bio" (1879). Next - the first mass aircraft "Demoiselle", built in France by Brazilian Santos-Dumont (1907). On the "Bleriot XI" Aviator Louis Bleriot first crossed the English channel in 1909, this event was perceived approximately as flying to the moon. First seaplane-Henri Fabre in 1910, the monoplane "Moran-Soline", which Roland Garros for the first time flew over the Mediterranean sea... And then - heavy carrier rocket "Ariane 5", towering over the whole complex.

The Museum is not only planes and helicopters. Here there is perfectly equipped with a planetarium that is easy to make an impressive virtual tour of the Solar system. On special simulators can feel like a fighter pilot or passenger of an airplane. You can wander through the space station, to see how people live and work in space.
