In 2000, on cinema screens released film "Chocolate" with johnny Depp and Juliette Binoche in the lead roles. The shooting of this picture was held in the French town of Flavin-sur-Ozren, and today the building, which housed the candy store of the main character, is considered a local landmark, along with medieval buildings.

However, the most famous local sweet - not chocolate, anise candy, which for many centuries prepared by the locals. Recipe sweets were invented by monks of the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter. It is, by the way, was for Flavin "core" - in 719, the year in these places was founded a monastery, around which later grew the small town. After the revolution, the monastery is located in the anise factory. It still exists in the village, and it even offers tours.

The municipality of Flavin-sur-Ozren is located in the Department côte d'or region of Burgundy. In the commune is home to about three hundred people. Flavin-sur-Ozren is a part of the Association "Most beautiful villages of France". From the title it is clear that the municipality is on the river Ozren, except where nearby flow two - Reclus and Verpan.

To the medieval attractions of Flavin are the remains of the Abbey with a crypt from the Carolingian era, double gates Portes-du-Val (XII and XVI century), several mansions of the XIII-XV centuries - Maison Lacordaire in the form of a trefoil, Mason-AU-Loup, decorated with the figure of the gargoyle, and the house with the statue of the virgin Mary on the facade. The Church of St. Genest (a monument of history since 1838) was built from the XIII to XVII century. It stands on the site of another more ancient temple. In the XV, XVI and XVII centuries in her appearance has changed dramatically, in particular, the side chapels and decreased the height of the arches of arches.
