Church of our lady (Notre Dame) is surrounded by cozy short lanes and alleys of the small seaside town of La Baule, southwestern France. The Atlantic coast is within a couple hundred meters from this building.

In 1879, La Baule has suddenly gained great popularity as a seaside resort, and here poured a lot of people. So was built a new residential quarter and with it a new parish Church. However, half a century later, the population had increased so much that it was decided to build a new, larger temple. Its construction was completed in 1935. A new Church as the previous one, was consecrated in honor of our lady.

The first temple of the new building was laid four years earlier. Important role in the construction played the Abbot françois Shoshone, who proved himself not only as the inspirer, but as a Builder: he was involved with other work during construction. The work was financed by wealthy residents of the city of La Baule.

Church done in neo-Romanesque style. Its length is 52 meters, width - 21 meters and the height of its graceful arches reaches 17 meters. The Cathedral's organ was manufactured in 1956. Also the Church is known for its magnificent modern stained glass.

It should be noted that at a distance of 500 metres from the Church of Notre Dame is its predecessor, the former Church of Notre-Dame-de-Flo, now known as the chapel of St. Anne. Despite the fact that after the opening of the new Cathedral, the old many decades have been abandoned, it was restored, though it has lost its sacred purpose. Now it is the town's cultural centre where various exhibitions are conducted.
