Holy Nicety, in whose honour consecrated Church of Nise in Lyon, was, it is possible to tell, hereditary Saint. His maternal grandfather is revered in Lyon Saint Rusticus, his two sons became bishops, and grandson Nicety in life, too, was the owner of this dignity. Holy Nicety lived in Lyons in the sixth century, in his childhood he was healed by the phenomenon of St. Martin of tours. In addition, the Holy Nicety had uncle the Bishop and historian Gregory of Tours. After the death Nicety was buried in the Basilica of saints Peter and Paul, and his burial place became a source of many miracles. Therefore, the Church decided to rename and named after a Saint.

At Lyons the Church of St. Nisie situated in the district of Lyon, on Rue Saint-Nisie. The Church was built in the V century, and the place for erection of the steel ruins of the Roman temple dedicated to the God Attis. In the Church were buried the remains of martyrs who were executed near this place in the II century.

One of the oldest areas of the Church's underground crypt of the VI century, located in a vault Dating back to Roman times. The Church building was rebuilt many times: the first conversion took place in the eleventh century and the sixteenth century. In the end, the Church acquired its Gothic style and in this form survived until our days.

Above the streets and houses are the two different-sized spire of the Church built in different centuries, the facade is decorated with sculptures and delicate stonework. On one of the towers you can see the astronomical clock.

Despite the fact that the decoration of the Church is noticeably poorer after the religious wars of the French revolution, there are remains of ancient sculpture, as well as survived the original stained glass Windows. After the revolution the Church from destruction was rescued by local residents, collecting signatures for a petition in her defense. In the XIX century the interior of the Church was supplemented by a mosaic of local artist Gaspar Ponce.

At the end of the last century were carried out restoration of the Church, and today it is a functioning Church with a Church school.
