Hospital St. Spirit: photos, description (Heilig-Geist-Spital)

In the centre of the Old town, on the banks of the river Pegnitz is the ancient hospital of St. Spirit, built in 1332. This is one of the largest surviving hospitals in Germany. The inner courtyard of the hospital is decorated with a wooden gallery. Lepers, contained separately from other patients, had built a separate building.

In one of the buildings of the hospital of St. Spirit with 1424 by 1796 he stored the symbols of the Holy Roman Empire. Now the hospital is a nursing home and a small restaurant.
