The Egyptian Museum in Berlin is one of the most prominent of the whole list of museums that are now part of the Berlin state museums. The building where it was located since 1697 and is today (with the exception of 4 years when the Museum was moved to the Museum island in the Old Museum), is called "Eastern stylerocket" and is of architectural interest.

The beginning of the exposition, of which soon grew the whole Museum was laid by Frederick William III in 1828, and it all started in one of the palaces, or rather, in monbijou. The meeting of the king was augmented and expanded the private collection of some of Passalaqua Giuseppe, an Italian merchant, and then it contributed to the findings of archaeologists, who left a mark in history under the name of the expedition of Karl Richard Lepsius.

Already in 1850 by one of the most influential German architects Friedrich August Stuler - on the Museum island for this collection was built a separate building, it is today the restored New Museum. The most famous exhibit of the entire collection was donated to the Museum not so long ago - only in 1920, and it was the famous bust of Nefertiti. During the Second world war the Museum was divided, it touched and funds which were taken in different places. It should also be noted that a lot of the exhibits were burned. The bust of Nefertiti was taken out in advance and stored in a deep mine in Thuringia, it saved him.

In the postwar years the Museum was opened, although not in its territory, as part of his exhibition was shown in the building of the Bode Museum, but the second part of the collection was moved to the Eastern part of Berlin and was first shown many years later - in 1967. When Germany United, the leaders of the two museums also decided to return everything in the original form. Now all the existing exhibits again took their places in the Old Museum, and the influx of people increased. Arrive in Berlin and see the bust of Nefertiti - a mistake, to prevent which is impossible.
