The Pillnitz castle: photos, description (Schloss Pillnitz)

Castle of Pillnitz - the summer residence of Augustus the Strong on the river Elbe, established in 20-ies of the XVIII century on project of Peppelman. The castle consists of two buildings - a Mountain Palace and Water Palace with the garden, the Lustgarten. In the early nineteenth century was built a New Palace, connecting the first two. The Lustgarten is a huge Park with pavilions and greenhouses in the Chinese and English style.

Now in the Mountain Palace, the crafts Museum, whose collection includes pieces of furniture, musical instruments, glass, Danish and French pottery, stonework and textiles.
