The modern art Museum Frieder Burda opened on the Lichtentaler-Allee in 2004. The Museum presents a variety of exhibits: more than 800 paintings, sculptures and other works of art history over the last century.

The main direction of the collection of classic modernism, so here are the works of max Bekmanna, August Macke and Ernst Kircher. The Museum also exhibits the work of artists whose names are better known to the General public: Picasso, Rothko, John. Pollock, KL. Steele, G. Richter.

The enthusiasm of the collector Frieder Burda, manifested more than 40 years ago, helped create the collection and then the Museum's opening. On the creation of the unique project of building worked the new York architect Richard Mayr. Considerable efforts have been spent to perfectly fit the unusual building of the Museum into the surrounding landscape and to align the scale with the neighbouring Exhibition hall in the classical style. In the end between buildings for the convenience of visitors appeared indoor transparent transition from the glass, and the construction managed to keep the trees.

The Museum is open throughout the day and almost all week, except Monday and holidays. For those interested in the art of XX and XXI centuries, is well worth a visit the current exhibition, presenting innovative positions and modern trends.
