Old and New Pinakothek: pictures, description of the Alte und Neue Pinakothek)

Collection of the Alte Pinakothek is based on private collections of Wittelsbach and includes works by Duerer, van Dyck, Titian, Botticelli, Raphael, Rubens and many other artists. The first floor is dedicated to the works of old German masters of the XVI-XVIII centuries. On the second floor there are paintings by Dutch, Flemish, French, German, Italian and Spanish artists.

The Museum building is also an artistic value - it is a masterpiece of architecture of XIX century, built in the style of Venetian Renaissance palaces.

New Pinakothek was opened in 1981. In its halls display more than 600 paintings and sculptures by European masters of the late XVIII - early XX centuries. there you can see works by such famous artists as Turner, Constable, Rubens, Mare, Manet, Monet, Degas and van Gogh.
In the Newest art gallery has collected modern works of fine art, design, graphics, jewellery and architecture of different areas. Here are exhibited works by Picasso, Matisse, Beckmann.
