The Franconian brewery Museum: photos, description (Fraenkisches Brauereimuseum)

The Franconian brewery Museum is located in Bamberg. Now it is the Federal state of Bavaria, and the historical name of this area - Franconia.

The Museum is located in the historical brewery building, built in 1122. It was previously part of the town's Benedictine monastery of St. Michael. The exhibits are in an old room with low arches. However, the extant situation is not completely original, this is only the eighteenth century, but in any case, the atmosphere in the Museum is amazing.

Here you can see all the processes of manufacture of beer: filtered, boiling, clarification, fermentation and other technological features. Thus there authentic instruments: filter press, brew kettles, and, of course, numerous barrels. Moreover, the so-called "beer seminar" you can try to make beer for himself. Of course, a visit to the Museum is included and wine tasting.

A separate collection is dedicated to beer life in the city: presented exquisitely decorated beer mugs, colorful coasters and covers, but also logos of different Beers, some of which are made of enamel. The Museum is about 1400 items, including a variety of paintings and photographs depicting the daily life of the city pubs and regulars. All this gives a vivid idea of the important role played by the tradition of beer culture not only in Franconia but also the whole of Germany.
