Arcade Generals (Feldherrnhalle): photo description (Feldherrnhalle)

Street ludwigstraße ends Arcade Generals. It is an open hall with arched arcades 20 meters in the style of the loggia dei Lanzi in Florence. In the arcade, erected by Friedrich von Gaertner in 1841-44, by order of Ludwig I, bronze monuments in honor of the Bavarian generals Tilly and Wrede. This Bavarian army monument reminds on the German-French war of 1870-71 years.

Feldherrnhalle was the site of Hitler's failed "Beer hall putsch". In the result, the hall has acquired a certain cult status in Nazi propaganda and therefore closed to examination.
