The Frauenkirche Church: photo description (Frauenkirche)

The Frauenkirche - Church of our lady of the magnificent Church, one of the most significant churches of the city. Was built in Baroque style at the direction of the Saxon elector and king of Poland Augustus the Strong in 1726-1743. The huge dome of the Church collapsed during the bombing of Dresden by allied forces during the Second world war, GDR authorities decided not to rebuild the Church as a reminder to future generations about what happened. Restoration of the Cathedral historical drawings began only after the reunification of Germany. Grand opening of the Frauenkirche took place in 2005.

Opposite the Church is the Martin Luther monument, created in 1885, Ernst Rachelim.
