Mount Pelion is considered one of the most beautiful places of Greece. In fact, it is a mountain range that forms a small Peninsula in a wonderfully scenic location between the Pagasitic Gulf and the Aegean sea. In recent decades this region has become a very popular tourist center. Coastal resorts with developed infrastructure and excellent beaches, snow-capped peaks of Pelion and its picturesque slopes covered in dense vegetation, picturesque mountain villages and lots of interesting attractions every year attracts an increasing number of tourists from all over the world.

Popular Pelion and the ski lovers. Here, at an altitude of 1500 m above sea level, about 27 km from Volos (the capital of the Prefecture of MAGNISIA) and 2 km from Chania, there is a famous Greek resort of Agriolefkes. It was founded in 1967 and is one of the oldest ski centres in Greece.

Agriolefkes has four main trails (red), a trail for beginners (green) and the track for cross-country skiing, 5 km long, the Center is equipped with five modern lifts (including children) that fully comply with current European standards. In the rental you can rent the necessary equipment and qualified trainers will help you to learn skiing and snowboarding (offered both group and individual lessons).

Given that located here hotels are simply unable to accommodate everyone, the booking should be taken care of in advance. However, you can stay in nearby Chania or nearby Makrinitsa and Portaria. The center also has restaurants, cafes, medical centre, weather station, Observatory and three Parking lots with a capacity of over 800 cars.

As Agriolefkes ski resort runs from early December to late March. In summer here is very popular sports such as mountain Biking, horse riding, mountaineering etc.
