The mosque of Pasha Qasim is one of the symbols of pécs. It is located in the city centre on the highest point of the city's Central square - the széchenyi square. In our day, she functions as the Roman Catholic Church. Building, square in cross-section, a width of a hundred steps, was built by Pasha Qasim the Victorious between 1543 and 1546 years. In 1660-ies of Evliya Celebi, the famous Turkish traveller wrote of the greatness of this building.
The minaret of the mosque was demolished by the Jesuits in 1766. A number of changes in the architecture of the building was made during the 18th to 20th centuries. As a result, the original architecture of the square leaving only the octagonal facade, covered with a dome. The interior of the Church is of interest with frescoes and quotations from the Koran.
