South Indian state Kerala is famous for its nature reserves, parks and beautiful landscapes. So, its territory is one of the most beautiful places in the country from the Eravikulam national Park, located at the foot of the Western Ghats. It covers an area of approximately 97sq. km. the Main part lies on a high plateau, with an area of about 2 000 metres. And that's within the Park is the highest Himalayan peak of the southern part of India - Anamudi mountain (Elephant mountain), a height of 2695 meters.

In Eravikulam home to a huge number of insects, 19 species of amphibians, 26 species of mammals, including Nilgiris tar. It was at this Park was the largest population of these endangered animals is only about 750 individuals. Also Eravikulam meet Gaura, Indian muntjac, sambari. Frequent and common jackals, jungle cats, wild dogs, leopards. In the Park there are also such little-known animals like Indian porcupine, Nilgiri Harz, Nilgiri langurs, or as they are called trachypithecus Joni, mongoose prostatodynia, Eastern (Asian) Beschetnyi otters and red mongoose. In addition to mammals, Eravikulam is home to 132 bird species, among which the black-and-orange Flycatcher, Pipit, Kusturica and many others.

The Park is famous because its territory was discovered a new species of frog Raorchestes resplendens is a bright orange-red frogs with black spots.

Visitors to Eravikulam can ask for bus tours, as private vehicles on its territory are not allowed. Also in the Park is prohibited to litter or start fires.

Easily accessible from Kochi and Coimbatore. The immediate Park from the town is Munnar, the distance to which is only 13 km away.
