Park "Bonbin Surabaya" is the zoo, which is located in Surabaya, East Java province. Surabaya - administrative centre of the province of East Java and one of the main ports of Indonesia. In addition, Surabaya is the second largest city in Indonesia.

Park "Bonbin Surabaya" is located near the city centre and is one of the largest and one of the best zoos in Southeast Asia. The total area of this zoo is 15 hectares.

The zoo was founded on 31 August 1916 a decree of the Governor General of the Dutch East Indies, and the first residents of the zoo became animals, which were collected by the journalist Kommer. Initially, the zoo was in Kalianda, and in September of 1917, the zoo moved to another street. The zoo officially welcomed its visitors in April 1918. In 1920, the zoo again changed his location and moved into the territory that belonged to the company, dealing with steam trams. In 1922, unfortunately, the zoo came the financial crisis and even had a plan to close the zoo. But the municipality of Surabaya, did not support this, in 1923, the zoo change management. In 1927, the funding of the zoo was carried out with the support of the mayor of Surabaya, the zoo acquired a new earth. Since 1939 the territory of the zoo gradually expanded and reached 15 hectares.
