Gallery Lewis Glucksmann art gallery, cultural and educational centre in cork. The gallery is located on the campus of University College Cork, just a 10-minute walk from the town centre on Western road.

Gallery Lewis Glucksmann was officially opened to the public on 14 October 2004. The gallery was designed by the talented Irish architects Sheila O'donnell and John Toomey is a modern three-story building with an area of 2000 square meters with well-equipped exhibition spaces, art workshops and lecture halls. There is also a cosy restaurant and a shop.

In 2005, the Gallery Lewis Glucksmann was named the Royal Institute of architects of Ireland "the best public building in Ireland". The gallery also has been awarded such prestigious awards as the British "Civic Trust Awards" and the prize of the Royal Institute of British architects, and was nominated for the Stirling prize. The name gallery was named in honor of his patron, Lewis Glucksmann is a successful American financier and philanthropist, generously supported cultural and educational projects in Ireland.

Gallery collection is a superb collection of paintings, prints, photographs, sculptures, and other objects of fine (visual) arts. Most of the collection relates to contemporary Irish art.

In addition to the permanent exhibition in the gallery of Lewis Glucksmann regularly hosts temporary exhibitions as well as thematic lectures and seminars, film screenings and other cultural events. There's a special program for schoolchildren which aims to expand the horizons of the younger generation and to Orient it to receive higher education in the future.
