Museum of Palazzo Mocenigo is located in the building of the same name of the Palace near the Church of San STAE in the Santa Croce quarter of Venice. It houses a rich collection of fabrics and historical costumes, and the Museum itself is part of the Foundation of the civic museums of Venice.

Palazzo Mocenigo is a large building in the Gothic style. It was much rebuilt in the early 17th century, when it became the residence of one of the branches of the family of Mocenigo. The family was one of the most important in Venice - seven of its members were Doges. In 1945, the year the Palazzo bequest Alvise Nicolo Mocenigo became the property of the municipality. Alvise was the last representative of the family, and wanted the Palace was used as an art gallery. In 1985, the year it housed the Museum and Research center of tissues and costumes.
