The Carthusian monastery of St. Martin, which stands on the Vomero hill, known not only for its artistic treasures, but also a great viewing point overlooking the Bay of Naples. The construction of the monastery was begun in 1325 at the behest of Charles, Duke of Calabria, and finished in 1368, under John I of Anjou. This building is typical of the Neapolitan Baroque. The single-nave interior of the Cathedral impresses with luxurious marble finishes and an abundance of artistic works. Here you can see all kinds of traditional Neapolitan Nativity figurines - presepi. In addition, you can see a collection of pottery, paintings of Neapolitan painters and relics of the Kingdom of Naples.
