RSA: photos, description (Oga)

Yeah - a small village located within the famous Italian resort of Alta Valtellina at an altitude of 1550 meters above sea level and is surrounded by some of the most beautiful Alpine peaks - Ortles, Gran Zebru, Tercero, Cevedale, San Matteo, Continue, Chimi, Piazzi, etc. While RSA is still widely untouched by mass tourism and its negative effects. On the contrary, you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and relax in the lap of nature.

On the territory of the village there is a small peat bog, Paluaccio protected by state and interest from the point of view of botany. I must say that today the moor has practically disappeared from Italy because of the constant processes of drainage and excavation, but also because of climate change. But in the ESO has survived one of these now rare ecosystems. Unfortunately, unlike most of the peat bogs of Northern Europe, Paluaccio is on the verge of extinction. His natural state was disrupted as a result of several drying processes, taken between 1920 and 1930 years. Needless swamp surrounded by meadows, pastures and pine forest, where you can see pine, larch, fir, and birch. And near Paluaccio is Fort Massaccio, built between 1909 and 1912, the years for the protection of the borders with Austria.

Another attraction of the OIG is the Fort Venini, had long been abandoned, and now attracts tourists. Recently, it was reconstructed, restored rooms and towers. The history of the Fort and surrounding areas is closely connected with the history of the Second World war, here in the Alps.

And not far from the OIG are the medieval towers of Torri di Fruela - expressive monument of history. Until recently, it was the most advanced military outposts in the defense of the city of Bormio.
