The arch of Augustus is the monument that has survived since the Roman Empire. The arch was delivered in 27 BC, after the construction of the road between Rome and the Adriatic coast. The main facade of the arch on which the inscription "Golden gate" facing Rome. During the middle ages the arch was used as a city gate in the fortress walls, fragments of which have survived to the present day.
