Photos and description

Masjid of DIN-Muhammad, is located on Sovetskaya street (formerly a Bank) is one of the main attractions of the city of Petropavlovsk. Its construction began with the donations of the merchants of a Master and Dean-Mohammed. After one of them was called a mosque.

In the years of Soviet power all the madrasas and mosques of Petropavlovsk were closed and liquidated. In the 1930s the building of the mosque was used for other purposes. The minaret of the mosque was completely dismantled. In 1990-e years the public began to fight for the restoration of historic religious institutions in the city. And only in 1996 the Tatar-Bashkir religious community managed to return the mosque to the destination. By the time the building was almost completely destroyed, leaving only one empty wall. Soon the Tatars and Bashkirs of Petropavlovsk engaged in the reconstruction of mosques of DIN-Muhammad, which ended in 1998.

In 2001, the mosque was re-built minaret. In 2013, the Church became subordinate to the Spiritual administration of Muslims of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RK DUM), and the community simply eliminated.

Today, the mosque, DIN Mohammad is a working mosque and one of the architectural monuments of the city of Petropavlovsk.
