Among the numerous and interesting museums in the city of Astana holds a special place in the Museum of modern history of the country - the Museum of the first President of Kazakhstan - Nursultan Nazarbayev. It is located at Beibitshilik street in the former residence of the head of state. Grand opening of the Museum took place in 2005.

Today in the Museum of the first President of Kazakhstan holds about 35 400 exhibits, including electronic archives is 24 734 units of storage, the library Fund - 1770 books and publications, the Museum's collection - more than 8 900 items.

The Museum presents unique archival research papers and documents, collection of books and gifts, awards and other items of direct relevance to the history of the modern state, revealing the work of the first Kazakh President. Unique interiors, pieces of furniture, components of a single complex, to the present day has been preserved in its original form.

The real pride of the Museum are the presidential awards. The collection includes awards of the USSR and of independent Kazakhstan, as well as many other States and international organizations. The inevitable interest is the unique collection of books donated by the President, with the autographs of outstanding figures of our time.

In addition, the Museum regularly hosts various cultural events, art and craft exhibitions. Excursions in the Museum are in Russian, Kazakh and English languages.
