The national Museum of musical instruments named everyone can find something well - known and reputable research center. The Museum is located in the city of Almaty in the Park of 28 Panfilov guardsmen in the building, built in 1908 as the "House of the military Assembly." The author of this project was the famous architect A. P. Zenkov.

Wooden rectangular in plan the building is a so-called "Terem-Teremok" in 1913, served as the exhibition hall the first agricultural and industrial exhibition of Semirechye. In Soviet times here were held party, Soviet and economic congresses, concerts and different city events. During the war, there were creative teams from evacuated at the time of the Soviet theatres of satire, operetta, musical Comedy with participation of N. Ruban, A. Raikin and R. Green.

In 1980 the building was renovated, after which it was transferred to the Museum. Currently, this example of wooden architecture is an architectural and historical monument of Almaty city. Almaty Museum is named for the legendary classic of kobyz music - after yklas Dukanova.

To date, the Museum has seven exhibition halls: hall of memorial musical instruments, hall of stringed instruments, hall of instruments of world Nations, hall of wind and percussive / noise instruments, the hall of archeology, concert hall and a hall for temporary exhibitions and presentations.

In the Museum there are more than one thousand exhibits, most of which were collected by B. Sarybaev. The Museum exhibition includes 60 different types of Kazakh folk musical instruments, which once used outstanding singers-improvisers - Abai, Zhambyl, Kurmangazy.

In addition, in the Republican Museum of musical instruments opened a Workshop of a craftsman, where every visitor will be able to see the production technology of national instruments.
