National Park "Reefs of Cozumel" was established by order of President Ernesto Zedillo Ponce de Leo 19 July 1996. The Park covers an area that extends 20 kilometers. The climate here is subtropical, the average daytime temperature on the coast is +26-28 degrees and the water about 25 degrees. The Park is located on the island of Cozumel, reef system which is famous all over the world and is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef is the second largest reef system in the world.
